2010 ACPE Scholarships
Application Information
This year the Association of Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE) has allocated $12,500 for scholarships of up to $2,500 each for students in Oregon and Washington. These scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who have been actively involved in the use of technology during their high school careers and are planning to pursue studies in a technology related field.
A completed application packet should be submitted to Joan Cortlund postmarked no later than March 12, 2010 to the address below. Successful applicants will be notified via email by April 16, 2009. The amount of the award will be paid to the college/school of the awardees choice and must be used within 3 years from the date of the award.
Submitting Application Materials
To submit a scholarship application, please follow the outlined steps below. An incomplete application will not be considered. All materials must be submitted as a complete packet in one envelope by the application deadline to be considered.
Meet the following criteria:
- Currently a senior at an Oregon or Washington K-12 public or private educational institution
- Has a minimum C+ GPA (include transcripts)
- Has demonstrated high interest and innovative use of technology during high school career
- Has demonstrated some community/school involvement, preference of technology focus
- Plans to pursue studies in a technology related field to obtain the minimum of a two-year degree
- Has provided description of a technology project
- Submitted evidence, in an accessible form, demonstrating the project
- Has completed the Student Applicant Form, signed by 2 nominating teachers
Submit completed application packet to Joan Cortland at the address below postmarked no later than March 12, 2010. Finalists will be selected and notified prior to the ACPE Conference to be held on May 5-7, 2010. The amount of the award will be paid to the college/school of the awardees choice. Although not required, awardees are encouraged to attend the conference in Welches, Oregon on Thursday, May 6th when the scholarship awards are announced.

Scholarship Application Form
Submit completed application packet to Joan Cortlund by US mail only to the address above, postmarked no later than March 12 2010. The complete packet must consist the following items:
- Student application form (each question answered in 500 words or less)
- Complete student contact information (including email address)
- Teacher nomination signatures and contact information (at least 2)
- Signed, and dated current school year transcripts
- Description of a technology project
- Evidence, in an easily accessible format, demonstrating the project
