2008 ACPE Scholarships
Application Information
This year the Association of Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE) has allocated $10,000 for scholarships of up to $2,500 each for students in Oregon and Washington. These scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who have been actively involved in the use of technology during their high school careers and are planning to pursue studies in a technology related field.
A completed application packet should be submitted to Joan Cortlund postmarked no later than March 7, 2008. Successful applicants will be notified via email by April 11, 2008. The amount of the award will be paid to the college/school of the awardees choice.
Submitting Application Materials
To submit a scholarship application, please follow the outlined steps below. An incomplete application will not be considered. All materials must be submitted as a packet in one envelope by the application deadline to be considered.
- Meet the following criteria:
- Currently a senior at an Oregon or Washington K-12 public or private educational institution.
- Has a minimum C+ GPA (include transcripts)
- Has demonstrated high interest and innovative use of technology during high school career.
- Has demonstrated some community/school involvement
- Plans to pursue studies in a technology related field to obtain the minimum of a two-year degree.
- Has provided evidence and description of a technology project.
- Has completed the Student Applicant Form, signed by 2 nominating teachers.
Submit completed application packet to Joan Cortlund at the address below postmarked no later than March 7, 2008. Finalists will be selected and notified prior to the ACPE Conference to be held on April 30 - May 3 2008. The amount of the award will be paid to the college/school of the awardees choice. Although not required, awardees are encouraged to attend the conference in Welches, Oregon on Thursday, May 3 when the scholarship awards are announced.

Scholarship Application Form
Submit completed application packet to Joan Cortlund by US Mail only to the address below, postmarked no later than March 7th, 2008. The packet should include:
- Student application form (each question answered in 500 words or less)
- Complete student contact information
- Teacher nomination signatures and contact information (at least 2)
- Signed, and dated current transcripts
- Evidence and description of a technology project
