2013 ACPE Scholarships

Application Information
This year the Association of Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE) has allocated up to $10,000 for scholarships of up to $2,500 each for students in Oregon and Washington. These scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who have been actively involved in the use of technology during their high school careers and are planning to pursue studies in a technology related field.A completed application packet should be submitted to the ACPE Scholarship Committee, and postmarked no later than March 1, 2013. Successful applicants will be notified via email by March 15, 2013. The amount of the award will be paid to the college/school of the awardees choice.Submitting Application Materials
To submit a scholarship application packet, please follow the outlined steps below. Note: An incomplete application will not be considered. Project demonstration must be provided via the web with no client needed for access. All written materials must be submitted as a complete packet in one envelope by the application deadline to be considered.
Meet the following criteria:
- Currently a senior at an Oregon or Washington K–12 public or private educational institution
- Has a minimum C+ GPA (include certified transcripts)
- Has demonstrated high interest and innovative use of technology during high school career
- Has demonstrated some community/school involvement, preference of technology focus
- Plans to pursue studies in a technology related field to obtain the minimum of a two-year degree
- Has provided description of a technology project
- Submitted evidence, in a web based form providing a URL with no client needed for access, demonstrating the project - do not send DVD's
- Has completed the Student Applicant Form, signed by 2 nominating teachers
Submit completed application packet to the ACPE Scholarship Committee at the address below postmarked no later than March 1, 2013. Finalists will be selected and notified prior to the ACPE Conference to be held on May 1–3, 2013. The amount of the award will be paid to the college/school of the awardees choice. Although not required, awardees are encouraged to attend the conference either in person or via a remote access process, in Welches, Oregon on Friday, May 3 when the scholarship awards are announced during our business luncheon.

Scholarship Application Form Submit completed application packet to the ACPE Scholarship Committee by US Mail only to the address above, postmarked no later than March 1, 2013.
The complete packet consist of the following items:
- ACPE Student Scholarship Application Form
- Complete student contact information
- Answers to the questions listed in the Application Form
- Teacher nomination statement, signature, and contact information (at least 2)
- Certified, signed, and dated current school year transcripts
- Description of a technology project
- Evidence of the submitted technology project via a web based format (provide URL) requiring no client software (Do NOT send DVD's)
